No more waiting months to get an appointment. Your physician expert can see you NEXT WEEK!

Do you take insurance?

We do not participate with any insurance. In order to provide this truly personalized, thorough and exceptional care as you need it, Dr. Troutman does not accept insurance. Our practice model is called direct specialty care meaning our patients pay the doctor directly.

I have Medicaid and Medicare insurance, can I still see you?

Unfortunately, at this time, we cannot see patients with these insurance.

Why do you not participate/take insurance?

We are an insurance-free medical practice. This simply means we will not collect payment from insurances for your care. By having patients pay directly to your doctor for treatment- just like you would pay for any excellent service, this model gives patients access to an unmatched doctor-patient relationship.

Better Care. By having a smaller practice, we can devote more time and attention to each individual and schedule longer 30 or 60 minute appointments. The extra time allows us to do an in-depth look at your particular struggle including the details that are often overlooked.

Better Accountability. The direct care model allows us to see patients more consistently (every week or every 2 weeks visits) to maximize your results and minimize frustrating wait times for appointments. The ability to do weekly/bi-weekly visits creates serial accountability and support which is crucial in creating change in our habits, our weight and life transformation.

Focused on You. Insurance-based practices need more staff to handle the complications of managing an insurance-based system. We have simplified our system so that office flow exist solely to serve you, our patient. We do not allocate resources serving the insurance regulations, or processing insurance claims.

Everything you pay at WEIGHT reMDy is transparent (there are no hidden fees) so you can make an informed decision regarding your treatment.

Can I use my Health Savings Account (HSA) / Health Flexible Spending Arrangement (FSA) to pay for my medical care?

Individuals can generally use the funds in their FSA/HSA cards for qualified medical expenses.   Medical expenses are the “costs of diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease” which include payments for medical services rendered by a physician. This will apply to the medical care you receive at WEIGHT reMDy.  Please confirm with your employer/HR regarding benefits prior to your appointment.

Can I be reimbursed for some of the costs?

Some insurance plans that include out of network benefits (PPOs) will offer a percentage reimbursement to their members for services rendered outside of their typical network-covered services. If this is true for you, we are happy to provide you with an invoice that you can submit to your insurance to see if you can get some reimbursement. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that you will receive reimbursement for our services from your insurance. Please be aware that most insurances will only reimburse you once you have met your out of network deductible.

Dr. Troutman is considered an out-of-network provider.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, check, ACH electronic transfer, debit card, and all major credit cards.

I want to learn more about the practice, how can I ask questions?

You can schedule a 15-minute in-person or virtual meet and greet with Dr. Troutman if you want more information about the practice or are considering whether to schedule an initial consultation. This is an informal visit, and no medical management will take place. Schedule yours today. If you are interested in Weight Wellness, click here. If you are interested in Midlife reMDy, click here.

I am interested in your service, but I am not sure if I want to commit to a plan, what are my options?

Dr. Troutman offers Initial Consults, with no plan commitment. You can meet with a physician expert and get a recommended plan and management.

Each arm of the practice has specific cost and time allotment for the Initial Consults. Initial Consults are comprehensive 60 minute appointments. We review your medical history, identify specific challenges unique to you and create a recommendation.

Cost of the Initial Consult fee can then be credited to the cost of any Membership program if you proceed to join.

When is payment due for service?

You can decide if you would like to be billed monthly or pay in full beforehand. Patients that pay the full amount will get a certain percentage off program price depending on payment method.

If you have elected a ‘per-service’ fee, then payment is due on the day of your appointment.

I do not have a primary care doctor, can I still be seen?

While I am trained as a Family Medicine Physician, I will be acting as a consultant specialist and I advise that you have your own Primary Care Physician to manage your general health. We generally communicate with your personal doctor.

Are lab tests and medications included in the cost?

No. However, we can order evidence-based lab tests that are helpful in evaluating your specific health concern. You can get the labs done at any lab provider and these are typically billed through your insurance.

Medications are prescribed based on medical history. Medications are sent to your preferred pharmacy.

We do not use compounded medications.

Medications are not included in your membership fee. Medication coverage is based on your elected insurance, and we have no ability to change what your insurance will cover as it based entirely on your plan. There are low-cost generic prescriptions that we can prescribe.

Health insurances have made it difficult for patients to have access to medically recommended brand name medications. We will be charging a $50 fee per episode of medication prior authorization for members of the program. This fee helps offset the cost and time spent completing the paperwork.

I do not live close to your office, can I still be seen?

Dr. Troutman sees patients in person at her Camp Hill office as well as virtually through a HIPAA secure platform suitable for telemedicine. If you prefer to do your visits completely virtual, that is definitely possible! There are federal regulations with regards to certain medications we might prescribe that might require an in-person visit. This will be discussed at your Initial Consult.

Frequently Asked Questions

I am not in menopause yet, will you see me and can you help?

Absolutely! Schedule your initial consultation and let us listen to your story. There will be no gaslighting, no disbelief, no dismissing of symptoms. This is a page out of the NAMS (North American Menopause Society) questionnaire. It highlights the different symptoms that can be reflective of perimenopause and/or menopause. Access the Symptoms Questionnaire.

Do you perform well-woman exams and can you be my primary care physician?

Dr. Troutman will NOT be performing traditional well-woman exams, pelvic exams or pap smears. You would need to continue to see your primary care physician or ob-gyn for preventative screenings.

Do you always prescribe hormone therapy?

Menopause Hormone Therapy is not for everyone. A comprehensive medical evaluation of your history is very important as well as a discussion of your current symptoms, potential risks and benefits of treatment is part of the shared decision making process. Dr. Troutman shares with you the latest evidence and science regarding MHT and how it can apply to you.

What if my provider says I should not take hormones, are there other options?

Short answer ? Yes. There are non-hormone therapy options available and Dr. Troutman is familiar and can discuss with you as well. But let's talk about it. Set up a consult. There are so many myths, misconceptions and unwarranted fears about MHT.

The unfortunate truth is, most providers don't have the interest or time to evaluate the data available. Not everybody is familiar with the nuances of Menopause Hormone Therapy and Dr. Troutman can walk you through all available options.

I want to learn more about the practice, how can I ask questions?

You have the option to do a 15 minute video meet and greet. This is a no-charge video visit to discuss our practice. No medical decision making is done. If ready to start, we will schedule your Initial Consult. Schedule the Free 15 Minute Video Meet here.

Initial Consults are scheduled for 1 hour. Prior to your appointment, you will receive a New Patient Questionnaire to complete that is reviewed before your visit. Together, we decide on your treatment plan and order any necessary testing, lab work, and prescriptions (including MHT) that can be sent to your local pharmacy. A lot of shared decision-making is done along the way. We work right alongside your primary care doctor and gynecologist as needed.

What type of hormones do you prescribe?

Dr. Troutman prescribes FDA-approved hormone options. She incorporates guidelines from ACOG (American College of OB-Gyn) and NAMS (North American Menopause Society now known as Menopause Society). The prescriptions for Menopause hormone therapy (MHT) are sent to your local pharmacy. Most insurances will cover prescribed MHT. There are both generic and brand name options available. These are all discussed with you at your appointments.

Why should I choose you for my Hormone Health?

As a practicing physician for 20+ years, I strive to listen to my patients. Every plan we create is a shared decision making process. After all, it is your health we are talking about! I pursued additional training with renowned menopause specialist Dr. Heather Hirsch. Because of my additional training, I can guide you in making a decision for your health based on science. As a Board -Certified Menopause Society Practitioner. (previously known as NAMS or North American Menopause Society), I keep up to date on evidence-based treatment and best possible solutions and share that knowledge with you.

Moreover, I am a woman struggling through my own perimenopause journey! It totally changed my perspective. My own story is actually what made me pursue additional training to help me understand what is going on with my body! My goal is to help patients like you who are also struggling with your story.

What hormones do you prescribe?

Based on appropriate clinical history, I prescribe FDA-approved hormone therapy in the form of estrogen, progesterone and testosterone (this means you can get this at your regular pharmacy and use your insurance benefits).

Do you prescribe testosterone pellets?

No. Menopause Society DOES NOT recommend pellets due to the spiking levels that occur which causes supraphysiologic (above the normal range) levels.
